Trainer Freddie Roach has revised his earlier prediction of a first-round knockout by Manny Pacquiao of Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto when the two meet on Nov. 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title fight.

Instead, Roach said he predicts Pacquiao to KO Cotto on the ninth round.

However, Roach said in an interview with Fox Sports that Pacquiao will hurt Cotto badly in the first round to take away the WBO welterweight champion’s confidence, the same way Pacquiao destroyed boxing legend Oscar Dela Hoya by dealing him a deadly southpaw on the first round of their fight that zapped De La Hoya’s strength leading to Pacquaio scoring a technical knockout on the ninth round.

Roach’s change of mind could be attributed to the fact that the pound-for-pound king is only “70 percent” prepared mentally amid distractions caused by typhoons “Ondoy” and “Pepeng,” and because of ”too many governors, too many congressmen who want a piece of him. “

“Overall, we worked through it,” Roach emphasized, saying Pacquaio is now in great shape after three weeks of focused training .

Some 20 congressmen are scheduled to fly to Las Vegas to witness the fight. Not to mention First Gentleman Mike Arroyo and his cohorts of public and private psychopants.
