LAS VEGAS With speed and power, Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2) pummeled his way to a technical knockout victory over the courageous Miguel Cotto (34-2-0) to become the new WBO welterweight champion .

As he made history by winning titles in seven different weight divisions, he is also fighting rumors back home that  his marriage was on the rocks and that he flew a starlet to Las Vegas to watch him.

The starlet is identified as Krista Ranillo, daughter of former actor Matt Ranillo. Both Pacquiao and Krista are said to be starring in a movie together.

Pacquiao dismissed the rumors. He said in a TV interview in Manila, "Let us avoid what I call our crab mentality. I am appealing to all of you to

avoid that. Let us unite so we will all be happy.”

"I hope they honor the achievements that I have won for my fellow Filipinos," he said.

In Las Vegas, promoter Bob Arum proclaimed Pacquiao to be the best fighter he has ever seen.

“I really believe that Manny Pacquiao is the best fighter I've ever seen. That includes Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler," Arum said. “I have never ever seen anything like it.”

Pacquiao, who started his boxing career at 106 lbs., has continually climbed higher weight divisions throughout his career beating honorary fighters such as Erik Morales at 129 lbs., Ricky Hatton at 140 lbs., De La Hoya at 145 lbs., and most recently Miguel Cotto at 145 lbs.

Pacquiao has held titles at flyweight, junior featherweight, featherweight, junior lightweight, lightweight, junior welterweight, and welterweight.

"I'll never have another fighter as good as him," Hall of Fame Trainer Freddie Roach said about the gifted Pacquiao. "He comes once in my lifetime."

Cotto, who was taken to a local Las Vegas hospital for full body scans directly after the bout, also praised the Filipino fighter for the good fight.

“Manny Pacquiao is one of the best boxers I ever fought,” said Cotto, who also fought tough fighters such as Antonio Margarito, “Sugar” Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, and Joshua Clottey.

Moments after it became inevitable that Pacquiao was going to win the bout with Cotto, the sold-out crowd at the arena began to chant “We want Floyd, we want Floyd,” instigating their demand for the dream match up between Pacquiao and the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr., formerly regarded as the pound-for-pound king of boxing.

“I think that is the fight the world wants to see,” Roach said in regards to possible fight between the two megastars. “We’ll fight whoever is out there. Whoever we negotiate a better deal with.”

Arum also said that Pacquiao is open to fight anybody.

“If Floyd Mayweather wants to fight Manny Pacquiao he knows who to call,” Arum said. “No baloney.”

According to a press statement from Mayweather Jr., Pacquiao won’t be the one to hand Mayweather his first defeat.

"Tell Manny Pacquiao to be his own man and stop letting everyone, including his loudmouth trainer, talk for him.  I am my own boss, speak for myself and tell it like it is,” said Mayweather Jr. “If Manny Pacquiao wants to fight me, all he has to do is step up to the plate and say it himself."

Arum and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions Inc. Richard Schaefer are currently discussing the plans for the possible fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr.

Directly after the fight with Cotto, Pacquiao was able to put on a successful concert at Mandalay Bay while still wearing a head wrap due to the injuries he suffered during the fight.

Pacquiao, along with his live band, were able to sing eight songs including “La Bamba”, “Bonggahan”, and the ever popular “Sometimes When We Touch.”

The following day, Pacquiao participated in his ritual Catholic Mass, which he usually holds before and after his fights, at the South Conference Room at Mandalay Bay.

A packed room watched Pacquiao perform prayers and blessings throughout the ceremony.

On Nov. 17, Pacquiao held his official after party at the Highlands of Hollywood in Los Angeles were he was able to sing some more songs for his fans.

Pacquiao returned back to the Philippines on Friday were he received a hero’s welcome.

“Manny put the Philippines in the global limelight after his history-making sports feat. He is a source of inspiration to all of us,” said Philippine Vice President Noli de Castro. “Manny exemplified the Filipino spirit of courage, determination, and faith in God. Manny will come home to a grateful nation for the pride and honor he brought to every Filipino around the world.”
