The Philippines’ world-renowned and highly acclaimed choral group, the Philippine Madrigal Singers will perform in San Francisco on August 12.

“Voices of Peace” will be held at the Holy name of Jesus Parish.

The Philippine Madrigal Singers is a musical ensemble composed of students, faculty and alumni of theUniversity of the Philippines. Their repertoire ranges from renaissance and classical music to international and Filipino folk songs. They also perform avant-garde, contemporary and pop music. The Madz are is known for their exceptional singing prowess and their signature seated performances.

In 2009, the group was recognized by UNESCO as Artists for Peace. Among their awards are the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing (1997and 2007), the Brand Laureate Premier Award from the Asia Pacific BrandsFoundation (2012), and most recently, the Grand Prix in the 64th InternationalChoral Competition (2016).
