17-year-old wakeboarder from Cebu bags silver medal at the IWWF World Cable Wakeboard Championships

Raphael Trinidad of Cebu won the silver medal in the Open Men’s Division at the IWWF World Cable Wakeboard Championships held in Argentina, scoring a neat 75.33 after two runs in the championships.

The 17-year-old wakeboarder competed against five other lads from around the world, including his idols, LiorSofer from Israel who bagged the gold medal, and Liam Peacock of Great Britain, who bagged the bronze.

“It feels like a miracle that we made it here. I’m super stoked to land the runs I was planning to,” Raphael tells the commentators of the show. “I’m super happy just to ride with Lio and Liam and have a good time.”

Raphael nailed his runs, impressing the judges with difficult combos all done beautifully.

“To my parents and the wakeboarding community – I love you guys! WE got here, yes!” the triumphant Raphael exclaimed.
