President Duterte is expected to celebrate the passage of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) with a ceremonial signing ceremony in Malacañang, August 6, according to Special Assistant President Christopher Go.
The President recently signed Republic Act No. 11054 or an act providing for the organic law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. A plebiscite will be held to determine if certain areas in Mindanao will be included in the new territory.
Earlier, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque admitted that the President was not into ceremonies but the Palace official believes a formal event was fitting to mark the BOL signing.
“I would personally want to see a ceremony and I would like to invite all the stake holders,” Roque said during a Palace press briefing.
“But it’s my decision. So, I’ll find today what that decision of the President will be. I’ll also find out from PMS (Presidential Management Staff) if they have a date scheduled for a ceremony of sorts. But, I think we deserve one,” he added.
