Mercury Public Affairs hires New Director in Sacramento Office

Filipina joins leading global strategy firm

Mercury Public Affairs, a leading global bipartisan strategy firm, has announced the addition of Nikki Ragsac as a Director in their Sacramento office.  Ragsac has two decades of experience in the legislative process as the former Director of Operations and Client Development at DiMare, Brown, Hicks & Kessler, LLC (DBHK).  In addition, Ragsac is the former Grassroots Coordinator for the California Medical Association and the former Operations Manager for the California National Organization for Women.

In addition to Ragsac, Mercury announced three other former DBHK government advocates to their lobbying team, including Jodi Hicks as the firm’s Co-Chair, and Ryan Spencer and Laura Parra as Senior Vice Presidents.

Mercury has an extensive team within California and throughout the globe.  In California, with offices in Sacramento and Los Angeles, the firm is led by former Speaker of the California State Assembly Fabian Núñez, and includes longtime friend of the Filipino community, Adam Keigwin as a Managing Director.

“Jodi, Laura, Ryan, and Nikki are all seasoned government affairs professionals who will significantly expand Mercury’s capacity and services in and around the Capitol,” said Núñez, Mercury Partner. “They are a crucial addition to the firm as we continue to strengthen our bipartisan ranks with exceptional, senior talent in every office around the world.”

The Ragsac family has an impressive Filipino history.  Her grandfather, Ben Ragsac, is from Barangay Pangada, San Catalina in Ilocos Sur. He immigrated to the United States in 1925 aboard the SS President McKinley. He later settled in Watsonville, CA where he became a prominent business owner and an active member of the Caballeros de Dimas-alang. Nikki Ragsac’s father, also named Ben Ragsac, retired in 2008 from United States Air Force with the rank of Colonel.
