Leading Ballet Ensemble Presents Filipino Heritage and Culture with a Unique Dance and Music Concert
April 22, 2019 – San Jose, CA – NorCal Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), in association with Evergreen School of Music & the Arts announced today, its presentation of the Philippine Ballet Theatre’s (PBT) “Filipino Masterpieces” and “Serye at Sayaw”, a special concert featuring a unique cultivation of music and dance inspired by Philippine-American culture, history and heritage. A U.S. debut for PBT, this show will be held at the Hammer Theatre Center on June 8, 2018, Saturday.
“Imagine our beautiful original Filipino music, live on stage, alongside it, modern dance and exquisite classical ballet, performed by Philippine’s premiere ballet company, in colorful Filipiniana costumes – this is certainly a one-of-a kind show and sure to warm the hearts of all ages,” says, NAPA founder and director, Elvie Teodoro.
“We are honored and excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with NAPA, to allow us to share the beauty of the Philippines through music and dance. We are happy to see our life’s work come alive and bring pride to Filipinos all over the world,” shares Noemi Casino, PBT board director.
Both NAPA and PBT have collaborated as two non-profit entities that focus on efforts to provide opportunities to those unable to fully afford music, dance and theatre arts instruction. The two entities have dedicated their resources over the years to offer scholarships, mentorship and meaningful participation in performance, with an end goal of enriching the lives of children, young adults, and the communities they belong to.
The theme of this event beautifully brings crescendo to the San Francisco Bay Area’s Philippine Independence Day (June 12) festivities. Sponsorships and program advertisements still available at this time.
