SACRAMENTO – Senator Leland Yee (D-San Francisco/San Mateo) will honor Mexican activist, poet, essayist, novelist, and journalist Javier Sicilia today on the Senate floor.
“Since the murder of his son last year, Javier has worked tirelessly to give a voice to the victims of drug violence in Mexico,” said Yee. “In the last 6 years, Mexico has suffered more than 60,000 drug-related murders due to failed policies on both sides of the border. This must change.”
Yee will formally recognize Sicilia at today during Senate Session at the State Capitol at Noon.
