LOS ANGELES – The Filipino Ministry leaders of San Gabriel Pastoral Region, this year’s sponsoring region, and the Archdiocesan Filipino Ministry Council invite the Filipino community to the traditional Archdiocesan “Simbang Gabi” on Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels, 555 West Temple St., LA., Calif. 90012. Simbang Gabi is a Filipino tradition during Advent consisting of a novena of Masses that will be celebrated by Filipino Americans in over 100 parishes in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The procession of Parols (Christmas lanterns), symbolizing Christ as the light of the world, starts at 6:30 pm, followed by Liturgy at 7 pm, with beloved Archbishop Jose Gomez as the main celebrant, along with the Regional Bishops and Clergy of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Filipino families representing parishes, members and leaders of Filipino Catholic organizations are requested to participate in the Procession of Parols.
