Those who trust in God are like Zion Mountain: Nothing can move it, a rock-solid mountain you can always depend on.—Psalm 125:1
We first notice in this psalm, David doesn’t imply that we will never be afraid. Instead, he says that we will overcome our doubts and conquer our fears. And the way to face doubt and fear is to step out in faith. Had David not stepped out and walked down the safe hilltop, Goliath wouldn’t have fallen in the dark valley.
You can trust God to protect you, but if you stay on the sidelines it doesn’t really matter, does it? So, how do you move from the sidelines to the battlelines? By faith, you put one foot in front of the other and get into the ring. How do we deal with our doubts and fears in order to realize the great commission of Christ? It is crucial that we wrap our minds around a mountain mentality that will dwarf our doubts and fears. After all, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and love and a sound mind.
David trusted God. Do you? David stepped out in the strength of God. Are you ready to step out in the very same faith you possess? So, stir up that inner fire which God gave you when he called and commissioned you. By faith, you are more than conquerors over your enemies, because the mountain-moving Spirit living in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
God’s hand holds you safely and securely in his mighty grasp, his promises have not failed and will never fail you in the future and his plan is simply much, much larger than what you can imagine.
